Genesis

Dexter and Gan were both born in the same day on the same nest. You may even call them twins since they too have the same mother!

How is it possible you ask? Well that's what Dex thinks. Gan's mom is the only mom he has ever seen. So for him she's his mom.

The story of his origin is an interesting one. His actual mom ( who is a dove, obviously) had to lay her egg into the crow's nest because she was escaping, hurt, from an eagle chasing her and she gave her life just shortly after laying the egg that became Dex.

Gan's mom was not a bright one and she just thought that the extra egg on her nest was always there and hence didn't break Dex's egg.

When it was time to hatch, Dex pecked out his way into the world a little different compared to Gan and Gan's mom just thought that Dex was a unique child.

Dexter had limited knowledge of his birth so he believed he is a crow cos his mom is a crow.

Gan's mom with her limited wisdom ended up believing that Dan is her child and so she raised Dan up like
her own.

Can you blame Dex or Gan or Gan's mom for letting Dan believe he is a crow?

Dex doesn't become a crow because he believed he is one.

  • How will Dex know he is a dove?
  • Will Dex benefit by knowing his true origin? Only time will tell...

Prologue

Another day.

The two, thick as any friends can be, sitting on the place they are so used to for many years and searching for where to go next.
The branch in which they are sitting, over looking the cemetery which has more than 200 years of human memories, keeps shaking as though it will fall any moment but it has been the same since the beginning of their lives. Dead and ready to fall but kept together by divine providence.

Dexter the dove who thinks he is a crow and his best friend Gan who is a crow.

Their combination is a sight you have to see to believe. Not every day do you see a pigeon doing things like a crow.

Some may even say it's ok since Dexter really feels deep inside him that he's a crow just like Gan and if Dexter really believes that he is a crow, maybe he really is a crow?

We have heard often of the great power that lies in our minds. That we can do great things if we actually believe in something and we quote of forests' being made, mountains being cut down, cities being burned down and even in the Bible about our thoughts run of life (Pro.4:23). But is that all that's needed for one to change himself? Can a dove really become a crow?

Why don't you have an irregular walk with me as I look into the life of Dexter and Gan and see if we can draw some inspiration and life method for us to have a more meaningful life while we are still here on earth.
